Okay, it's actually better than it sounds. We're doing a workshop, actually, at Summer School at stackt, the new neat cultural centre/market/hub comprised of shipping containers that's popped up on a chunk of unused land at 28 Bathurst Street.
Visiting stackt on its own is fun in itself but they've cleverly put together Summer School, which is the name of the affordable, fun, creative and family-friendly programming hosted there for next little while. Beginning on July 10 and running until August 1 on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, there will be a series of intimate workshops/experiences to be led by influencers/mavens in the fitness, dance, culinary, maker, literary, wellness, parenting and play space. Programming partners include Design Exchange, Live Food Bar Penguin Random House, Roo Parenting and YOURS TRULY, SCOOTER GIRL TOYS! The theme of each session will revolve around three pillars: learn, do and create!
During our workshop we're planning on having everyone work together to create a big mini (ha!) stackt city out of cardboard boxes, paint, glue, stickers, what-have-you. We'll have all the supplies and a bunch of us will be there constructing and helping and giving some how-to advice but really, we want to get our hands dirty, too! Adults don't often get a chance to do something creative and fun on a large scale, just for the sake of doing it, so we're really excited. The workshop is for ages 5+ and we really hope some of you will join us. You come with with your kid, you play, snacks are included and you don't have to clean up. Sounds freakin' awesome, right?
Tickets are available here and each ticket includes payment for one adult & one kid. Oh, and did I mention snacks? There are snacks! Also, follow us on Facebook and Instagram because it's very likely we'll be giving away some free tickets.
